OOVY dot NET* is the website of writer and editor Evie Nagy. Originally from San Diego, she now lives in Oakland, arriving via layovers in New York City, New Jersey, Boston, and Istanbul, Turkey. Evie is currently a Staff Writer at FastCompany.com focusing on creativity in business, and was previously the Music Editor at Billboard Magazine, Executive Editor of Wolfgang's Vault, a Contributing Editor at Paste Magazine, Managing Editor of RollingStone.com, and had an earlier run as an editor at Billboard. She has contributed news, reviews and features to Fast Company, Rolling Stone, Spin, Billboard, Jezebel, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Publishers Weekly, Paste, Bust, ARTnews, Comic Foundry, GO Magazine, The Jersey Journal, Skope, and others. She is also the author of a book for the 33 1/3 series on the Devo album Freedom of Choice, released in May 2015 (more info here). She was published in Best Music Writing 2010, and co-wrote the afterword to an anthology of rock writing by the late Ellen Willis, the New Yorker's first popular music critic. For five years she co-hosted the Awesomed By Comics Podcast with her husband Aaron McQuade; the show is on indefinite hiatus but never say die. With a background in education, Evie has written academic speeches, program proposals, marketing copy and textbook modifications for English Language Learners. On the side, she's been a live and studio vocalist who was secretly once in a girl band.

*For anyone curious about the domain name, Oovy was Evie's high school nickname, given to her by an English teacher for no particular reason. This website has been here since 2004 (10 years after high school but easy to type), and when the long-overdue current process of redesigning it is finally done, she will still likely keep the name.
